Showback
Showback reports each team or product's cloud costs to make spending visible, without actually billing those costs back to their budgets.
Showback is the lighter-weight sibling of chargeback: it surfaces who is spending what so teams feel accountable, but the central budget still pays the bill. It is often the first step organizations take before moving to full chargeback.
Effective showback depends on accurate cost allocation and regular, digestible reporting to the teams that own the spend.
