Cloud waste
Cloud waste is spending on cloud resources that deliver no value — idle instances, oversized machines, orphaned storage, and forgotten environments.
Industry estimates commonly put wasted cloud spend at roughly 30% of the total bill. The usual culprits are overprovisioned instances, non-production environments left running 24/7, unattached disks and old snapshots, idle load balancers, and duplicate or forgotten resources.
Most waste is recoverable without touching application code — through rightsizing, scheduling non-prod resources to shut down off-hours, and cleaning up orphaned assets.
