Cloud egress cost calculator

Enter your monthly outbound data transfer and see what each provider charges after its free tier. Egress is one of the most underestimated line items on a cloud bill.

Internet egress only. Inbound (ingress) is free; cross-region and cross-AZ transfer are billed separately.

ProviderFree tier$/GB afterMonthly cost
Google Cloud200 GB$0.09$72.00
AWS100 GB$0.09$81.00
Azure100 GB$0.09$81.00

Bundled-transfer providers: DigitalOcean bundles several TB of pooled outbound transfer into Droplet prices (overage ~$0.01/GB) and Hetzner includes 20 TB/month per server (overage ~$0.001/GB) — for egress-heavy workloads they can be far cheaper than the metered hyperscaler rates above.

Frequently asked questions

How much does cloud egress cost?

AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud charge roughly $0.09/GB for outbound data transfer to the internet after a small monthly free tier (100 GB on AWS and Azure, 200 GB on GCP). Inbound transfer is free.

Why is my data transfer bill so high?

Egress scales silently with traffic and is billed per GB with almost no free allowance at scale. High-traffic APIs, media delivery, cross-region replication, and NAT gateway traffic are the usual causes. A CDN or a bundled-transfer provider can dramatically cut it.

Which providers include free bandwidth?

DigitalOcean bundles several terabytes of pooled transfer into Droplet prices (overage ~$0.01/GB), and Hetzner includes 20 TB/month per server (overage ~$0.001/GB) — both far cheaper than metered hyperscaler egress for traffic-heavy workloads.
