Cost and Usage Report

Also known as: CUR

The Cost and Usage Report (CUR) is AWS's most detailed billing dataset, providing line-item, hourly usage and cost data for every resource in an account.

The CUR is the source of truth for deep cost analysis on AWS: it breaks spend down to the individual resource and hour, including the pricing model, tags, and discounts applied. Analysts typically load it into a query engine (Athena, BigQuery, or a FinOps tool) rather than reading it directly.

Azure's equivalent is Cost Management exports, and Google Cloud's is Billing export to BigQuery.
